SLIDE gave this group a strong vocabulary of movement, especially downward movement. Diana uses it indirectly through confinement and frustration, Lari makes it literal and comic, auntie jj turns it into a conscious movement away from snideness, and both of Mark’s poems build their entire structure around the tension between climbing and falling back.
The strongest pieces made SLIDE feel like more than descent. It became consequence, redirection, gravity, or altered momentum. That gave the word emotional and structural weight rather than leaving it as a final action.
