words from wordle 1,931

USURY pushed the poems toward pressure, debt, desperation, and a fair amount of dark humor. Diana turns bankruptcy into an almost absurd self-help moment, Mark gives the word a hard-boiled whiskey-soaked setting, and auntie jj gets comic mileage from the sound of SURLY / LOUSY / USURY. Across the group, the stronger entries gave the financial word some human consequence instead of treating it as pure vocabulary: someone owes, schemes, lends badly, or gets caught in the machinery of a bad deal.

Diana Marie 4/6
STAVE off bankruptcy
Use BLISS mantra to PSYCH up —
USURY near me…

Mark 3/6
Steely eye STARE down
He POURS another whiskey
Pay the USURY

Robo 5/6
The STING of a LEACH
From FUSSY MOUSY lender
USURY practice

auntie jj 4/6
a FREAK (ish) good deal
SURLY a LOUSY loan shark
absurd USURY

Mick 4/6
the GREAT MORON Sid
laid a RISKY plan on Pete —
lowdown USURY

the GREAT MORON turned
the RISKY moment around —
lowdown USURY

Solo Renga
a GREAT nation met
an artful MORON who took
a RISKY gamble

commit blatant USURY —
he purloined public coffers

what it is

  • worku is a daily practice where your wordle guesses become a haiku
  • use your guesses in the same order you played them
  • aim for imagery and flavor over perfect grammar
  • add a touch of nature, humor, or irony

“Worku is good for saying what you are thinking, which is why I have so many about cheese. Nice finding a place.” — Mark
