words from wordle 1,942

WIDER gave this round room to expand—in space, consequence, perspective, and outright absurdity. Debbie starts with meticulously cut vegetables before realizing precision was the problem, Diana turns a quiet field and warm cider into a widening breath, and Robo lets a gunshot keep expanding outward as an echo. Lari, meanwhile, uses WIDER exactly as zappai might hope: somehow a tiger, a viper, and airborne cider all belong in the same emergency.

The strongest poems made WIDER change the scale of what came before. A kitchen mistake becomes obvious, a private act gains consequences, a field opens perception, or a small problem suddenly requires bigger seats. The word worked best when it didn’t merely describe size, but actually made the poem enlarge.

Debbie Wilson 3/6
CUBES of veggies PARED
Neat squares of carrots and squash
Should have cut WIDER

Mark 5/6
Solo Renga
STARE at a FRIED egg
Swirl round the DINER CIDER
Enter Leonard Smalls

Apocalypse RIDER sits
Searching for the WIDER truth

Robo 4/6
The STAIN on his soul
The CLICK from the HIRED gun
The WIDER echo

Jonesy 5/6
GUEST in the ABODE
and DINER toting CIDER
made WIDER discourse

Diana Marie 4/6
NOISE quiets in FIELD
Hot CIDER beckons indoors
Breathe in WIDER view

B-lu 4/6
RINSE and dry the dog!
Nope, too TIRED, want CIDER.
You will get WIDER!

Lari 5/6
BREAK out! The VIPER
with the TIGER! Throw CIDER
To push them WIDER!

auntie jj 3/6
a POWER struggle
caused WAGER to rise at track —
WIDER risks at stake

Mick 3/6
“Alas,” he had CRIED
“The RIDER cannot sit here!” —
WIDER seats needed

what it is

  • worku is a daily practice where your wordle guesses become a haiku
  • use your guesses in the same order you played them
  • aim for imagery and flavor over perfect grammar
  • add a touch of nature, humor, or irony

“Worku is good for saying what you are thinking, which is why I have so many about cheese. Nice finding a place.” — Mark
