words from wordle 1,945

SHADY split neatly between literal shade and suspicion. Debbie makes shade feel almost precious under an oppressively close sun, while Diana uses it as a place to retreat and sulk after a bad race. Robo, auntie jj, Jonesy, and Mark take the other route, letting SHADY become a verdict on crooked cards, questionable cooking, online behavior, or hipster pretension.

Mick’s mystery piece sits nicely between the two meanings: the swamp is literally dim and atmospheric, while the washed-up crate is obviously suspect. Across the group, the strongest entries made SHADY feel like the natural consequence of the scene rather than just the required last word.

Diana Marie 4/6
Lost the RELAY race
PATTY and Jane ANNOY me
SHADY spot to sulk

Debbie Wilson 2/6
Something I can TRADE?
For SHADY spot under trees
The sun feels too close

Robo 3/6
A GRAND was at stake
A SPADE should have won the pot
The deal was SHADY

Jonesy 6/6
Cyber LAUGH, such SHAME!
The tweet will SHANK the country.
A SHARP SHAFT. SHADY!

Mark 5/6
STARE at meager SNACK
SMALL yes, chef attempting SWASH
SHADY hipster fail

auntie jj 4/6
CRAZY food ordeal
fish was MEALY, herbs SOAPY
chef’s background SHADY

Mick 4/6
Poem 1
Eerie CRATE washed up …
we draw a BLANK in the SWAMP —
Open SHADY thing?

Poem 2
Eerie CRATE washed up …
BLANK faces crowd the hushed SWAMP —
Open SHADY thing?

what it is

  • worku is a daily practice where your wordle guesses become a haiku
  • use your guesses in the same order you played them
  • aim for imagery and flavor over perfect grammar
  • add a touch of nature, humor, or irony

“Worku is good for saying what you are thinking, which is why I have so many about cheese. Nice finding a place.” — Mark
