words from wordle 1,967

PRATE pushed this group toward empty talk, chatter, complaint, and verbal excess, which made it especially fertile for satire and zappai. Mark turns it into the endpoint of escalating blame, Lari gives it a comic character voice, and auntie jj makes it part of an absurdly bureaucratic prison code.

Debbie’s poem is a particularly good example of how Worku can make nonsense cohere. The constraint words look almost impossible together, yet the poem builds a comic internal logic from food, objects, trade, irritation, and finally cheese. PRATE isn’t present there, but the same spirit of linguistic improvisation runs through the whole group: when the words are strange enough, making them live together becomes the craft.

Jonesy 6/6
The filthy LUCRE
will RAISE the GRAVE FRAME justly
and DRAPE trumping PRATE.

Robo 5/6
The weird ROUND thingy
Stuck in the STRIP fell APART
Yet they TRAPE and PRATE

Debbie Wilson 0/6
Malt SHAKE, CRANE melon
Picture FRAME, TRADE all to GRATE…
IRATE man needs cheese

auntie jj 3/6
prison PENAL code:
use PARVE ingredients
keep PRATE minimal

Mark 5/6
EARLY hook seems GREAT
Next they TRACE blame to IRATE
Then it’s just hate PRATE

Lari 3/6
My Lord, such a BEAST.
He taketh his PLATE at six
And then PRATE til ten!

Mick 4/6
Poem 1
no GUILE, just CHASE
not BRAVE with truth
meaningless PRATE

Poem 2
banter with no GUILE
two locked in a dodge, BRAVE CHASE —
chance succumbs to PRATE

Poem 3
GUILE among BRAVE toads
wicked crane leads the CHASE
PRATE clatch ends hunt

what it is

  • worku is a daily practice where your wordle guesses become a haiku
  • use your guesses in the same order you played them
  • aim for imagery and flavor over perfect grammar
  • add a touch of nature, humor, or irony

“Worku is good for saying what you are thinking, which is why I have so many about cheese. Nice finding a place.” — Mark
